It goes without saying that the teaching staff are central to the success of Richmond English School, and we hope to attract cheerful, caring and conscientious teachers capable of inspiring hard-work and success on the part of our students.
As representatives of a Cambridge Approved Exam Preparation Centre, it’s essential that our teachers are comfortable preparing students for the Cambridge suite of exams (especially FCE and CAE) as well as for the IELTS test. In addition to these core competencies, we can offer you a diverse range of other teaching challenges, from Pronunciation classes through to English for specific purposes, such as Law or Business.
The classes you teach will generally be small, with a maximum of 14 students per group, and we can offer year-round work, including day times (mornings and afternoons), Saturdays and evenings.
We are looking for both those who want full-time work, as well as those looking for extra hours, part-time, on a self-employed basis (we are happy to negotiate the number of hours you work.) You will need to be CELTA Qualified, and have an up-to-date DBS check.
In return for your commitment to us, we will always try to provide a friendly and supportive atmosphere, with diverse opportunities for career development, and would hope to work with you over the long-term.
If you think that sounds like you, then please drop us a line (with a copy of your CV attached) and we can organise a time to meet.
We pay generous rates of commission and are currently looking for expressions of interest from agents who would like to represent us in their local area.
We are approved as an official Cambridge English Exam Preparation Centre, and can help with all aspects of a student’s stay from airport pick-up to accommodation finding. Agents should please note the following:
We only accept students over the age of 16 and do not provide accommodation services to under 18’s, unless accompanied by a group leader or staying with a family friend or relation acting in loco parentis during their stay in London.
In due course we hope to apply for Accreditation, but at the time of writing we are not an Accredited School and therefore don’t have a Tier 4 sponsor licence. As such, we are unable to sponsor 6 month study visa applications. We therefore only accept students from EU/EEA/Switzerland and those from other countries entering on a Standard Visitor Visa providing that they are studying for less than 6 weeks (30 days) and studying is not the main reason for their stay in the UK.

We are currently looking for people to work as Interns with us for 3 month period.
This is not a paid position, but in return for helping with responding to inquiries, book-keeping, class room scheduling etc, we can offer you English classes free of charge. During the course of your time with us, we can also do things like help you improve your C.V. and covering letter, give interview training and provide you with full references on successful completion of the internship.
To date, we’ve had great success with our interns, all of whom have gone on to find good jobs after working with us. Don’t be put off if you haven’t worked in an English-speaking environment before. This is a an excellent opportunity to get some first-hand experience of working in a busy London office, while receiving free English classes at the same time.
We are especially interested in receiving applications from those whose first language is Spanish, French, Italian or German.
Please send us your C.V. or get in touch with us today if you’d like more information.
Become a Homestay Host for Richmond English School. Richmond English School is currently looking for individuals, couples or families who can act as homestay providers for our students from overseas.
As a homestay provider, you’re a crucial element of the student’s stay in London: all of our students are looking to find more than somewhere just to go back to at the end of day, and so we love to find homestay providers who are happy and willing to welcome them as guests rather than tenants or lodgers. Ideally, we hope to find homestay providers who enjoy conversation, take an interest in other cultures and enjoy answering the odd question about British culture.
You’ll need to have a nicely furnished spare room, in good condition and with good light, which offers the student enough space to study in, and with an easy-to-get-to private or shared bathroom.
We are keen to find homestay providers in those parts of London with good transport transport links to Mortlake or Barnes Bridge station, or alternatively with access to the bus routes along the Upper or Lower Richmond Roads. Our preferred homestay partner areas are as below:
East Sheen, North Sheen, Mortlake, Barnes, Barnes Bridge, Putney, Richmond, St. Margarets, Twickenham, Hampton, Fulwell, Teddington, Chiswick, Kew Bridge, Wandsworth Town, Clapham Junction and Queenstown Road.
If you’d like to know more about our current rates and requirements, please contact us for further details.
