There is a lot to see and do in London and and there are a lot of places around the UK that can be visited on a day trip from London.
We organise excursions and social events, so that you can see new places, meet new people, and practise speaking in English. You can see details via our newsletter, the school noticeboards and our Facebook group.
London Excursions. We organise monthly London excursions, free of charge and led by a member of staff. We do things like go to the Oxford v. Cambridge Boat Race, Richmond Park, Portobello Road and Camden Market, as well as going to Museums and Galleries.
Even though the London events do not have an entry fee, you should allow for the cost of travel and buying yourself lunch, drinks and snacks. The maximum cost of a London one day travel card is £12, so together with food and drink, you should allow for at least £20 for the day.
UK Excursions. For trips outside London, we work with a travel partner who organises regular excursions to some of the UK’s most popular travel destinations such as Oxford, Cambridge, Brighton, Stonehenge and Bath. We will let you know about these excursions with posters in your classroom or via our newsletter. If you want to go along, please let us know in the office and we can give you the booking details or we can book you in ourselves.
Transport for the excursion (included in the price) is by coach, usually departing from Hammersmith, in south west London. You will need to get yourself there at the beginning of the day.
Most of the UK day trips cost from £40 to £60. For example, going to Stonehenge and Bath currently costs £50, which includes your coach travel and entry to Stonehenge. However, it does not include entry to the Roman Baths in Bath, nor your food and drink, so you should allow for an extra £20 – £30.
Just like the London trips, the UK ones offer a great opportunity to see new places, meet new people and practise speaking English, so do go along.
See you there!
