Baljit Binning is the Director of Studies at Richmond English School, and oversees the academic program. PGCE qualified, with a Masters in Education Management, she has extensive experience managing EAP programs (English for Academic Purposes) for undergraduates and post-graduates, as well as IELTS programs, in which she is also an Examiner. As somebody who ran her own successful London Events Company, she also specialises in teaching Business English.
Tom Lockhart first taught English in Nepal on a gap year, and then in Spain, before moving into the Wine Trade. He worked as the London Sales Manager for a wholesale business, before setting up on his own wine wholesale company selling into Restaurants, Hotels, Caterers and Clubs. However, the lure of English teaching proved too much, so he set up the school in 2013, and now teaches mainly Cambridge FCE and CAE as well as Business English Courses.
Kamila Pretka is the School’s General Manager. She looks all aspects of our day-to-day administration and is always happy to help a student in need. Prior to working with Richmond English School, she was the Business Administration Manager with an Internet Company in her native Poland for 3 years after completing her degree in Finance and Accountancy.
Donald MacDonald is an Engineer by training, with an International Business background in the UK, Germany and Singapore both as a Sales Director and Managing Director in the Telecommunications and Tech sectors. Now dividing his time between business and teaching interests, he teaches IELTS and Business English courses, and particularly enjoys working with students from the Tech, Engineering and Pharmaceuticals industries.
Ruth Tafla has taught English, run English schools and worked as a nurse all over the world in a long and varied career. She teaches a number of the au pair groups, including the Saturday morning class.
Alex Snelling teaches part-time at Richmond English School, in addition to co-managing his family’s business which runs Primary Schools in South West London. A language buff, who studied Classics at University, Alex also has a Management Accountancy Certificate and a Graduate Diploma in Law. He mainly teaches Cambridge CAE and CPE classes, and is also available to teach Business English classes.
