Report by Robert Calisti, B2 Student from Italy. The British Museum is considered to be one of the most important museums in the world. Beauty is expressed in every form of art: paintings, sculptures and masterpieces of every age and countries are stored in this building. First of all, the Rosetta Stone. This work of art represents the first example of translation because thanks to this stone, experts were able to interpret Egyptian hieroglyphs. Next, the important historical remains of the Parthenon, an ancient temple dedicated to the goddess Athena. The Parthenon sculptures, known as Elgin Marbles, are today divided between London and the capital of Greece. Finally, the museum includes collections of many historical periods, such as Medieval and Renaissance objects, but we can not forget to mention the Egyptian mummies which ensure the immortality of the British Museum.
